Tomato Update

Planted 11 140' rows of tomatoes on raised beds with drip irrigation and bio-degradable black plastic.  Went to plastic because last year straw mulch made for a huge slug infestation. Yellow nutsedge became a nuisance weed which is very difficult to control without using toxic herbicides. So we'll try the black plastic which should control the weeds and the slugs too.
The drip irrigation was easy to setup. Hopefully it'll reduce splitting and make for healthier tomato plants.  Liquid fertilizer can be applied with it a s well

Can't wait for that first vine ripened tomato!.
