It's finally drying out a bit after Flushing received somewhere between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain last Friday in about 3 hours. We tried moving twenty Blueberry bushes last week even before that storm but it was too wet then. It'll have to wait. Plan is to install 27 ten foot posts to suspend bird netting on.  The blueberry bushes neededto be repositioned to fit under the netting.

The tomato plants are really looking good and they're ready to plant.  This year the plan is to use raised beds and biodegradable black plastic mulch with drip irigation.  Then we'll use bamboo stakes and bailer twine to make trellises.

I started three trays of sweet corn, one every 10 days, to give them a head start. Then they will be transplant to raised bed and black plastic mulch too.  Plan is to have sweet corn in early July.

All the vegetable fields have been tilled once.  So when we can do another tilling everything will be planted late in May.
